July Slow Supper

Somehow, with not much planning, SFMV members seem to choose diverse, delicious dishes for our potlucks. Our July Slow Supper was no exception: We enjoyed a range of wonderful salads, fabulous bread and Flying Rhino coffee, plus interesting conversation in a unique setting: the PetMassage Institute, owned and operated by SFMV members Jonathon and Anastasia Rudinger.

If you were there, please send your recipe ( or post it on our Facebook page. If you missed it, please try out some of these salad ideas at home. Either way, mark your calendar now for September 25th. Along with SF chapters across the country, we'll be organizing a volunteer work day, followed by a harvest celebration.

For more pictures of our July pot luck, plus some menu ideas, look us up on Facebook.

July Market Demo

Kids of all ages enjoyed the colorful fresh dips made by Amelia Contreras for SFMV's July demo at the Toledo Farmers Market: Cream cheese with a bit of Garlic Expressions and some raspberry puree from Ackerman's Berries was delicious on gluten-free crackers. Citrus poppy-seed dressing and a yoghurt-basil-mint-honey mix were popular as dips for the fresh local peppers and cucumbers.

We'll be back at the market on August 21 st, September 18th, and October 16th. If you'd like to help, please e-mail us:
